Leírás

Padre Pio House was established in 1997 within walking distance of the beautiful village of Churchtown. Only 15 minutes drive from Mallow and Charlevi
Padre Pio House nursing home is owned and managed by Mary & Shane Mc Cabe. Mary is the Director of Care and with over 25 years experience came to Nursing Home care from a background in Oncology Nursing. Shane has over 20 years experience in Care and manages the administration of Padre Pio House.
Our Care home’s dedicated team of skilled attentive nurses, carers, housekeeping, maintenance, entertainment, administration and kitchen staff are available to assist in any way they can, so you can be assured of a dignified, caring and respectful service.
Team development is one of the core aspects to achieving first class care.
Activities
Our vision for activities is to eliminate loneliness, helplessness, and boredom. There is a great sense of community thanks to a full activity program that’s developed to meet each individual’s interests and capabilities. With a constant emphasis on maintaining dignity and independence, these activities and social events play an important role in achieving this.
Our music sessions are eagerly anticipated and give an opportunity for everyone to show off their fancy footwork and vocal talents. Quizzes and Bingo are keenly contested and ensure friendly rivalry and fun.
But more importantly it is the variety and spontaneity.
Our Hairdresser is here every week and is an important part of the community.
Mass is celebrated every Thursday.
Our Residents Committee meets regularly to discuss and plan these activities.
There is also a children’s playground beside us for when the little ones visit.
Dining Experience
Whether you decided to dine in the privacy of your bedroom or join us in the dining room our cooks put a great effort into making it an occasion.
Shortly after you join us a Nurse will sit down and discuss your dietary needs and the cook will chat about your likes and dislikes.
Our dining room is bright and homely. As far as possible fresh seasonal ingredients are used, the produce from the garden and poytunnel being the first.
Special days are celebrated with input from the residents. Paddy’s day, Easter or a special birthdays.
Snacks and drinks are available throughout the day and visitors are welcome to a cup of tea any time.
Gardens
The Nursing Home is on 2 acres of mature planted gardens. There are plenty of pathways to exercise or you can potter in the poytunnel, at the raised beds or just sit beside the pond listening to the waterfall.
Gardening is a wonderful tonic and Liz our social and therapeutic horticulturist will guide you or you can just sit and watch.

Care Services
We aim to meet the needs of our residents by providing them with the highest level of Relationship Centred Care and service. Our holistic approach ensures that individualised care plans are formulated in conjunction with each resident or their representative as appropriate, to ensure the level, standard and quality of care is second to none.
We appreciate that your loved one may need differing levels of care at different times in life. With this in mind we adopt a flexible service that meet the needs of you or your family member.
Long Term Care
Long Term Care is offered to people who may experience difficulty in looking after themselves or have decided that they would prefer to live in a community for company and support.
Dementia / Alzheimers Care
In conjunction with Dementia Services and Development Centre (www.dementia.ie) we run regular workshops for all staff in Dementia Care. The Centre also guides our Dementia development.
This focus gives us the competence to support Residents with dementia and their families without the need for a ‘specific unit’. In particular we welcome relatives who would like to be involved in the care of their loved one.
Palliative Care
Our Director of Cares’ background is in Oncology Care. Our team liaises with Marymount Hospice who provides essential service, support and guidance to those residents requiring palliative care.
Convalescent / Respite Care
We have a number of rooms that are tailored for post-operative care. These rooms are large, bright and are all en-suite and equipped with flat screen televisions and WiFi.
Convalescence residents can have their meals served in their room or dine in our friendly, relaxing restaurant.
Clinical & Medical
Physiotherapist
Our chartered physiotherapist provides a variety of treatments to help the individual meet their optimum movement and function.
General Practitioner
You can choose to keep your own GP or use our local Doctor who visits every Monday and Thursday and is on-call outside these hours if required.
Dietician
We recognise the importance of maintaining a balanced nutritional diet, in particular for the older person. We consider it essential to liaise with a professional dietician to implement suitable diets as part of our Residents care plans.
Your Bedroom
The majority of our bedrooms are single en suite and have Wireless Nurse Call, TV, Radio and Wi-Fi. Under floor heating ensures the floor and your room is always warm.
Personal effects may be added to your room and Clive is available to hang pictures or move furniture.
All our rooms have a view of the Garden and you are never far from an exit to get some fresh air in the Garden.
Sitting Rooms
We have six sitting rooms so there is plenty of room and somewhere for everyone to relax.
Each area is decorated differently or has a different atmosphere. Whether it is watching sky sports, reading in the library or the peace and quiet of the sanctuary with its pond and aviary or the brightness and bustle of the atrium.
